Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan

Thank you to Cocoa Brown for sending me the 1 Hour Tan to try ..

Anyone who has read my previous blogs will know I suffer from dry skin and get psoriasis and eczema break outs. Trying to use fake tan with these conditions can be an absolute nightmare, fake tans tend to stick to the dry patches which just makes them stand out even more and then I end up with white patches where the tan does not stick to the areas of eczema/psoriaisis.

I was so excited to try Cocoa brown because the founder of this company 'Marissa Carter' also suffers from these skin conditions and has kept that in mind with the ingredients in these products (Vegetable derived DHA and no parabens).

My skin has been clearing up due to a new eating plan I have been following (Blog on this coming soon) but my hands and wrists had a slight break out over the weekend. I wanted to try the tan when my skin was slightly inflamed so I could see how it reacted to it and so I could test it to let others know.

Before I applied the tan I had exfoliated and been moisturising using pure cocoa butter to get rid of any dry patches. This needs to be completely washed off before applying tan but to be honest I kept some on my hands and elbows as they were dryer than the rest of my body.

The tan is a mouse and is slightly coloured so you can see where you are applying it. I used the #cocoabrown tan mit to apply the mouse all over my body, applying it to my hands last with the tan that was already on the mit.

The tan smells so fresh compared to most tans by the way and dried in like 2 seconds after I applied , weh heyyyy!!

It was then just time to wait on the tan developing, I can't lie, I was terrified inside as my skin and fake tan don't get along too well.

So for a normal glowing tan you leave on for 1 Hour, for a medium tan 2 Hours and for a darker tan 3 Hours. I had mine on for about 2 hours which gave me a lovely colour.

Results

* It did not stick to the rash on my wrists the way other fake tans have. It still coloured the areas and did not clog them up and make them more noticible, this is my biggest pet hate with most tans so I was really happy with this.

* The tan faded really well, it didn't go patchy and my eczema patches faded normal instead of fading before the rest of my body and being covered in white patches. RESULT =D

* The colour was not orangey at all , a nice golden colour

* I did smell a little bit of the fake tan smell the next day but it was definitely not as strong as other fake tans I have used

* It didn't irritate my sensitive skin =)

* It didn't cover red patches but certainly did not stick to them or make them worse

I will definitely be using this tan again and cannot wait to try out the other products by Cocoa Brown.

I would reccommend people who suffer from dry skin, eczema and psoriasis to try this tan if you are having the same problems I have with fake tans, try a patch test to see how your skin reacts to it before using it all over your body.

I would also recommend this product to everyone! If it works so well on dry skin I imagine it works beautifully on good skin.

You can buy the 1 Hour Tan Mouse HERE and its ONLY £7.99!!!

Happy Tanning !!

Absolutely Fabu-lash

I had been looking to get into network marketing for a while. I was searching online and going to different presentations but just could not find any products that I truly believed in. As an honest person, I felt if I was going to start selling products it had to be a product I genuinely loved.

I was approached a few times about selling weight loss products but that just really isn't my thing so I kept looking and eventually, I came across Younique.

It was through social media I found Younique and I started to look into it. It was all make up and beauty products which definitely interests me so I thought,  I need to try this.  I signed up straight away and waited patiently for my starter kit  to try the products.

When my starter kit arrived I knew the first product I was going to try was of course the '3D Fiber Lash Mascara. There had been such a buzz about this everywhere and I was so excited to try it to see if it actually worked. I knew that if I was going to be able to sell this product and believe in it, I had to love it myself.

The mascara comes in this pretty little box, so cute. You get two tubes, one tube is the transplanting gel and the other tube is the fibers.  There are instructions that come in the box with the following steps:

Step 1: Apply one coat of your normal mascara
Step 2: Apply the transplanting gel
Step 3: Apply the fibers
Step 4: Apply the transplanting gel again

This was so quick and easy. Both the gel and the fibers are on a brush just like a normal mascara and you just apply it like normal mascara. The fibers add length and thickness to your lashes instantly. I applied one coat and my lashes looked long and whispy but I wanted to see what another coat would do, so I followed the process again and it made them even longer and thicker.

This a photo of one my eyes with the Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara. This is a few coats of the mascara. You can build it up as much as you want, it really depends on you and how bold you want your eyes to look. This mascara can be for every day use, wearing just one coat to give your lashes extra length and thickness and it can also be used for evening and glamorous make up. The mascara is £23 which is quite expensive for a mascara but it is definitely worth the cost!

I instantly loved this product and knew I would be able to sell it and recommend it to others, so I started posting about it through facebook. I uploaded my #selfies wearing the mascara and everyone loved it.

Younique is a company I think I am really going to enjoy working with, it is early days but I love it already. As well as getting commission for each item I sell, I also get free make up. What more can you ask for? Everything is done through social media which is also amazing! .. Oh and its a good excuse to take #selfies all the time :P

I have tried a few of the products and so far loved every one. I am excited to try more of the products, especially the foundation as it is NASTIES FREE which should be good for my sensitive skin (will let you know how I get on) ..

If you would like to purchase the 3D Fiber Lash Mascara you can do this here at my Online Party!

If you would rather sign up and sell the products please email kerrioraw@gmail.com and I will provide you with more information and online training!

Or if you would like to host an online party to earn yourself some free make up without signing up, send me an email and we can get that arranged.

If you have any make up or beauty products you think I would be interested in trying, please do not hesitate to contact me on: kerrioraw@gmail.com

Love the skin you're in ..

This is a very difficult thing to do when you suffer from a skin condition such as dry skin, eczema or psoriasis. There are so many people who suffer from these conditions that can have an affect on your daily lifestyle, confidence and self esteem. I am one of they people. Some people suffer from extreme cases and others mild but no matter how extreme your case is , this condition can affect your daily life and leave you feeling negative.

I do not suffer from extreme cases of eczema or psoriasis but when I have flare up's, it causes me a lot of frustration and stress. Stress which then makes my skin worse!!

I'm sick of people thinking I'm just trying to get out of 'doing the dishes' or looking for something to complaint about. It is hard for people to understand how ANNOYING this can be if they have not experienced it themselves.

I never had any problems with my skin when I was younger, except from the odd chapped lips break out in winter. I never suffered from spots or acne whilst at High School. I have to admit, I am a bit vain and I do like to take pride in my personal appearance. This is why, when I first started to get patches of eczema I struggled to deal with it.

When I was 15 I started working in a hairdressers. This was the career I had chosen when deciding to leave school, most my friends were doing it and I decided to try it as well. At first it was great, I was loving working in such a glamorous work place, getting dressed up to go to work every day and working with glamorous people. However, it wasn't so glamorous when I started to develop dermatitis and eczema on my hands from washing hair every day. At first I thought it would be fine, it would go away, once I became a fully qualified hairdresser I wouldn't need to wash as much hair anymore. This was not the case, it started to get worse, it spread up my arms and then on to my face. I tried using barrier creams, wearing gloves, drying my hands properly but it would not go away and I had to give hairdressing up.

My dermatitis did get better, after I gave up the hairdressing career but since then I have experienced other problems with my skin. The hairdressing might have triggered these problems or they might not have, who knows? I will probably never know but the one thing I had to do is learn to deal with it. OK, so I couldn't smother my body in glitter sun shimmer without going patchy  but I have still managed to rebuild my confidence and feel glamorous. There are times where my skin is so bad I literally cry and start to feel negative but there are also periods of time where my skin looks great. You just have to take the good with the bad, I suppose and learn how to keep the flare up's to a minimum.

SOAPS: A lot of people who have sensitive skin tend to use Simple soap and body wash. I have spoken to people who really love these products. I have tried the Simple soap , I used if for a few months but felt it made my skin feel really dry, to be honest. It might just be my skin though, so it may be worth trying it to see if it works for you.

I use DOVE soap every day. I always make sure I am stocked up so I am not tempted to use other soaps when I have ran out. I have never had any problems with DOVE and would definitely recommend this to anyone with dry and sensitive skin. This can be purchased from most supermarkets and shops.

Another soap I love is the Dr Organic Manuka Honey soap from Holland and Barrett. This contains Manuka Honey which is known as a natural healer and is used by many people who suffer from eczema and psoriasis. Also smells great!

TANNING: When I am not going through a flare up I tend to use moisturising tanning lotions. These are still not great for sensitive skin but as they contain moisturiser they are a lot better than normal tanning products. Sometimes I can use this tanning lotion and be completely fine and other times it can itch my skin. I normally take an anti histamine after applying this just in case my skin decides to play up.

My  favourite from all the moisturising tanning lotions is the 'Garnier Summer Body' one. I have used this over the top of eczema on my hands and arms , it did not cover the patches up BUT it didn't make them stand out like other tanners do. You can buy this from most supermarkets and from Superdrug and Boots.

If my skin has flared up and I have a night out, a photo shoot or event I am going to and want to look tanned and glamorous, I tend not to use any tanning products before it as this can be too much of  a risk to take in case my skin flares up even more. On these occasions I love using Sally Hansen Instant Tanning as this works best on flared skin and I can then wash it off that night which means I do not have to suffer patchy fake tan for the rest of the week. This does not completely cover the patches, if you look really closely BUT it does a good job of smoothing over them and definitely makes you feel a lot better and more confident. You can buy this from some supermarkets, chemists and from Superdrug and Boots.

This is a photo of me from a photo shoot I done. I am wearing the Sally Hansen Instant Tan (Airbrush Legs) all over my body. If you look really close you can see the white patches (on my wrists and elbows) that are not completely covered but from a distance, is barely noticeable. This photo has been edited but you can still see the colour difference on my skin.

* When I lived in London I felt the harsh water really had an affect on my skin. If you live in a city where the water is quite harsh it may be worth your while looking into getting your water filtered *

TOP TIPS

  • Moisturise as SOON as you come out of a bath or shower to keep skin soft and minimise flare ups ( I use Doublebase, prescribed by my doctor)
  • Put a drop of baby oil in your bath to soften your skin (not too much or it may irritate affected areas)
  • Try to use as many natural products as possible and stay away from perfumed products
  • Carry anti histamine with you always, check if your doctor can prescribe you with these as they are quite expensive to buy, if you are using regularly
  • Always wear gloves when cleaning, latex sometimes irritates skin so maybe try and stay away from latex gloves
  • Do not use cheap soap powder / fabric condition. I recommend Surf soap powder and the white Comfort fabric conditioner. I have never had any trouble with these
  • Try not to wear make up when ever you do not need to
  • Wash your towels after one use, always dry with clean towels
  • Regularly wash your bed sheets

Thanks for reading, I am still searching for other products and remedies and will keep you updated on anything that works for me. If anyone has any recommendation please share on comments <3

Hello, this is just a quick introduction to my blog.

My name is Kerri, I am 24 and from Scotland. I work full time, do modelling in my spare time and like getting involved in as many projects as I can. I am currently living back in Glasgow and have been back here for 3 years after living in London for 2- 3 years. I love music and used to do a lot of singing. I was in a few girl bands and also done solo recording and worked with other artists. My experience of living in London taught me many things and I am so glad that I got that experience. Moving there at the age of 19 , it helped me mature and learn how to survive on my own.

I am quite a deep thinker and most people who know me,  know that I LOVE talking (to anyone who will listen). I often find myself having deep conversations with strangers and random people who I meet out and about on my daily travels. I love when I speak to people who share the same interests or who have similar experiences to myself so I thought it would be a good idea for me to make this blog to share my thoughts, ideas and experiences with people who may be interested.  I am one of they people who everyone comes to for advice and I love helping others so as well as this being therapeutic for my busy mind I hope my experiences can also help people who stumble across the same problems as I do.

I look forward to sharing my blogs with you and if anyone has any questions please comment below <3 xx
